Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026 · Effective: June 2026

Please read these Terms carefully before using 8 Second Reels. By registering or using any part of this platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use this service.

1. Who We Are

8 Second Reels (“we”, “us”, “our”, “Platform”) is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that enables users to generate short-form AI video Reels using Google's Veo 3.1 Lite model via their own Google Cloud Platform (GCP) credentials.

Operator: Individual Proprietor

Proprietor Name: Neha Gupta

Registered Address: New Delhi, Delhi, India

Legal correspondence: support@8secondreels.com

General support: support@8secondreels.com

Website: https://8secondreels.com

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Platform.
  • You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
  • You must be capable of opening and managing a Google Cloud Platform account in your own name and be solely responsible for all costs and activities on that account.
  • Use of this Platform is not permitted where AI-generated video content is prohibited by local law.

3. Account Registration & Security

When you register, you agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • All activities that occur under your account.
  • Notifying us immediately at support@8secondreels.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
  • Not sharing your account with any other person. Each account is for one individual user only.

4. Pricing — Free of Charge

4.1 No Subscription Fee

Access to 8 Second Reels is provided free of charge. There is no subscription fee, no per-video charge, and no payment to us of any kind. AI generation and storage costs are billed directly to your own Google Cloud account from your free credit or billing — see Section 6.

4.2 Changes to the Free Model

The Platform is currently free for all users. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans or change feature limits in the future. If we do, we will provide at least 30 days' notice by email and/or in-app before any charge applies to you, and no charge will ever be made without your explicit consent.

4.3 No Payment Information Collected

Because the Platform is free, we do not collect, process, or store any card, bank, or other payment details.

5. No Fees & Third-Party Costs

No charges from us. As the Platform is free, there are no subscription charges, trials, or refunds payable to or by us.

You remain responsible for your own Google Cloud costs. The Platform does not include, offset, or cap any Google Cloud charges. We are not liable for and cannot refund: (a) Google Cloud or Vertex AI downtime, quota exhaustion, or API errors; (b) changes to Google's Veo model pricing, availability, or output quality; (c) your GCP account being suspended or restricted by Google; or (d) your failure to configure your GCP credentials correctly.

Note for Indian consumers: Your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 are not affected by these terms.

6. Google Cloud Credentials & Your GCP Account

Important — Billing Authorization

By uploading your GCP Service Account JSON key to this Platform, you expressly authorize 8 Second Reels to call Google Cloud APIs — including Vertex AI (Veo video generation) and Google Cloud Storage — on your behalf, using your credentials. All charges resulting from these API calls are billed directly to your Google Cloud billing account, not to us. The Platform is free and covers access to our software only — it does not include, offset, or cap any Google Cloud charges.

6.1 Your Responsibility

To use video generation, you must provide a valid GCP Service Account JSON key and GCS bucket name. You are solely responsible for:

  • All costs incurred on your GCP account, including charges beyond your free $300 (~₹25,000+) credit.
  • Ensuring Vertex AI and Cloud Storage APIs are enabled on your GCP project.
  • The security and appropriate IAM permissions of your GCP service account.
  • Compliance with Google Cloud's Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service.
  • Keeping your GCP configuration current if Google modifies its Cloud Console interface, service account setup process, IAM roles, or API configuration requirements. We provide a setup guide as a best-effort reference and update it periodically, but we make no guarantee that the guide reflects Google's current console at any given time. The responsibility to follow Google's current process — and to reconfigure your credentials if Google changes how service accounts or credentials work — rests solely with you.
We strongly recommend setting a GCP billing budget alert in your Google Cloud Console (Billing → Budgets & Alerts). Set a monthly limit that matches your comfort level — for example ₹500–₹1,000. You will receive an email from Google before your spending reaches that threshold. This is the most effective way to avoid unexpected charges once your free $300 credit is used up or expires.

6.2 How We Handle Your Credentials

Your GCP Service Account JSON is encrypted using industry-standard symmetric encryption before storage. The decryption key is stored as a server environment variable, never in source code or the database. Your credentials are:

  • Never returned in any API response.
  • Never written to any application or server logs.
  • Only decrypted temporarily in server memory at the moment of a generation request, to authenticate with Google on your behalf.
  • Visible to admin only as a “Configured: Yes/No” indicator — never as the actual key.

6.3 Our Liability Limitation

We are not liable for any unauthorised use of your GCP credentials arising from breaches of your own device, account, or from credentials shared with third parties. If you suspect compromise, immediately revoke the key in your Google Cloud Console.

6.4 Google Services — Pricing & Availability Risk

You acknowledge and accept that this Platform's video generation features are entirely dependent on Google Cloud services that are outside our control. Specifically:

  • Free tier removal. Google currently offers a free $300 (~₹25,000+) credit to new GCP accounts. Google may reduce, restrict, or remove this free tier at any time without notice. If Google removes or reduces the free credit, your GCP account will be billed directly for all Vertex AI and Cloud Storage usage. We are not responsible for any charges you incur as a result.
  • Veo pricing changes. Google may increase the per-second or per-generation cost of the Veo model at any time. Those costs are billed to your own Google Cloud account; the Platform is free and we do not charge or refund any platform fees.
  • GCP account suspension by Google. Google may suspend or restrict your GCP account for any reason, including suspected Terms of Service violations, fraud, payment failure, or geographic restrictions. If your GCP account is suspended, the Platform will be unable to generate videos on your behalf. We are not responsible for Google's suspension decisions.
  • Veo model deprecation or regional restriction. Google may deprecate the Veo model, replace it with a different model, or restrict its availability to certain geographic regions. If the model becomes unavailable in your region, generation will fail. We will make reasonable efforts to update the Platform to support a replacement model but are under no obligation to do so within any specific timeframe.
  • API quota and rate limits. Google imposes per-project and per-region API quotas on Vertex AI. If your quota is exhausted, generation requests will fail until the quota resets. Monitoring and managing your quota is entirely your responsibility via the Google Cloud Console.
By using the Platform, you expressly acknowledge that it is provided free of charge and covers access to our software only, and that you independently bear all risk associated with Google Cloud's pricing changes, service availability, account management decisions, and policy changes.

7. Content Generation — Permitted & Prohibited Use

7.1 Prohibited Content

You agree not to use this Platform to generate content that:

  • Features real, identifiable persons — including celebrities, politicians, or any private individual — without their explicit written consent.
  • Features trademarked characters or intellectual property owned by third parties (Disney, Marvel, Nintendo, etc.) without authorisation.
  • Contains sexually explicit, obscene, or pornographic material of any kind.
  • Contains gratuitous violence, gore, or depictions of physical harm.
  • Depicts use, promotion, or glorification of weapons, illegal drugs, or self-harm.
  • Contains hate speech, discrimination, or material targeting individuals or groups based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Features political figures, election-related content, or political propaganda.
  • Sexualises or endangers minors in any way. Such content will be immediately reported to law enforcement authorities.
  • Is designed to deceive or mislead, including deepfakes intended to misrepresent someone's words or actions.
  • Violates any applicable Indian law or the laws of any jurisdiction.
  • Uploads or uses images that you do not own or hold a valid commercial licence for, including photographs of identifiable individuals taken without their explicit written consent.
  • Uploads audio files — including music, sound recordings, or voice content — that are protected by copyright unless you hold a valid commercial licence for that specific content and intended use.

7.2 Safety Filtering & Vertex AI Content Policies

As a first-pass measure, we run your prompts through a content safety classifier before submission to Vertex AI. This classifier is powered by a third-party AI service and may be temporarily unavailable during periods of service downtime, in which case prompts are submitted directly to Vertex AI's own content filtering without our pre-filter. Vertex AI's own safety filters remain active at all times regardless of our pre-filter status. You remain solely responsible for all prompts you submit regardless of whether our pre-filter is operational at the time of submission. A rejection by Vertex AI does not affect your access to the Platform.

7.3 Ownership of Generated Content

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you own the video content you generate. We claim no intellectual property rights over your generated videos.

7.4 Our Right to Suspend

We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your account if we have reasonable grounds to believe you have violated Section 7.1. We will notify you by email with the reason for suspension within 24 hours of the action.

Right to Appeal: If you believe a suspension was made in error, you may appeal within 14 days by emailing support@8secondreels.com with your account details and a description of why you believe the suspension is incorrect. We will review your appeal within 7 business days. If the suspension is found to have been made in error, your account will be restored immediately and full access reinstated with no action required on your part.

7.5 Copyright & Takedown Notices

If you believe that content generated on this Platform infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please send a written notice to support@8secondreels.com with: (a) a description of the allegedly infringing content; (b) your contact details; and (c) a statement that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf. We will investigate and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the content within 48 hours of receiving a valid notice, in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000.

7.6 AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

No quality guarantee. Video content is generated by Google's Veo AI model, which is a third-party service. We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, quality, resolution, duration, consistency, or suitability of any generated video. AI models can produce unexpected, inconsistent, or unsatisfactory results by their nature — this does not constitute a defect in our service.

Your responsibility before use. You are solely responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before publishing, distributing, monetising, or using it in any way. You must verify that generated content complies with applicable laws, platform policies (Instagram, YouTube, etc.), and does not infringe any third-party rights. We are not liable for any consequence of publishing or using AI-generated content without adequate review.

Model behaviour changes. Google may update, modify, retrain, restrict, or deprecate the Veo model at any time, which may alter the style, quality, or type of content the model generates. Such changes are entirely outside our control and do not entitle you to any compensation.

Google's usage policies apply. Use of Vertex AI / Veo is also governed by Google Cloud's Generative AI Additional Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. By using this Platform, you confirm that you have read and agree to comply with Google's terms in addition to ours. Any violation of Google's terms may result in your GCP account being suspended by Google independently of any action we take.

AI-generated captions, hashtags, and text suggestions. AI-powered features on this Platform (including Prompt Coach, Auto-Enhance, Caption Generation, Hashtag Generation, and Hinglish Mode) are not reviewed by us before display. You are solely responsible for reviewing all AI-generated text, captions, and hashtags before publishing, distributing, or attributing them to yourself or your brand. We make no warranty that AI-generated captions or hashtags are accurate, culturally appropriate, legally compliant, or suitable for any specific social media platform's content policies.

7A. Uploaded Content — Images & Audio

7A.1 Image Uploads

Any image you upload to this Platform as a starting frame for video generation must be either (a) original content you created, (b) licenced for commercial use under an appropriate licence (e.g., a purchased stock-image licence, a Creative Commons commercial licence), or (c) royalty-free content cleared for your intended use. You must not upload photographs or likenesses of identifiable real individuals without their explicit written consent. You are solely responsible for all claims of copyright infringement, right of publicity, right of privacy, or any other intellectual-property or personal-rights violation arising from images you upload.

7A.2 Audio Uploads (Background Music)

The Video Series feature allows you to upload an audio file as background music. You represent and warrant that any audio file you upload is either (a) original content you created, (b) licenced for commercial use and synchronisation with video, or (c) royalty-free content cleared for your intended use. You must not upload music, sound recordings, or voice content protected by copyright unless you hold a valid commercial licence that expressly permits synchronisation with video content and distribution on social media platforms. You are solely responsible for all claims of copyright infringement or licensing violation arising from audio files you upload and all consequences of publishing or distributing videos containing such audio.

7A.3 Prompt Templates & Inspiration Content

Prompt templates and inspiration content displayed on the Platform are provided for convenience only. Templates are curated and reviewed by our team using AI-assisted systems. They do not constitute legal advice or a warranty that any resulting generated content will be legally compliant, free of third-party rights issues, or suitable for any particular use. You remain solely responsible for reviewing any prompt before submission, regardless of whether it originated from a Platform template or was written by you.

7A.4 AI Voice Narration (Video Series)

The Video Series feature includes optional AI voice narration using synthetic voice presets. These voices are AI-generated and do not represent, impersonate, or replicate any real individual. You are responsible for ensuring that voice narration content in your series does not defame, misrepresent, or violate any person's rights. AI-generated voice quality, style, and consistency may vary and are not guaranteed. No compensation is provided on the basis of AI voice output quality or style.

8. Video Storage & Data

  • Generated videos are stored directly in your own GCS bucket. We do not host, copy, or retain your video files.
  • We store only metadata: video ID, prompt text, generation status, GCS URI, and timestamps.
  • Save limit & auto-deletion: You may save up to 5 videos in your library. Saving a 6th video automatically and permanently deletes your oldest saved video from both our metadata and your GCS bucket. This action is irreversible. We will display a warning before this deletion occurs, but once confirmed, no recovery is possible.
  • When you delete your account, we delete all your metadata and make a best-effort attempt to delete associated GCS files. You remain solely responsible for verifying deletion in your Google Cloud Console and for any GCS costs until deletion is confirmed.
  • GCS storage costs are billed directly by Google and are your sole responsibility regardless of any issue with our Platform.
  • We do not back up your generated videos. You are solely responsible for maintaining your own copies of any content you wish to preserve.

8.2 Video Series Storage

The 5-video save limit applies to individual saved videos across both single-video and series generation. Each video within a series counts as one saved slot against your limit. A merged series video (a single file combining multiple series videos) counts as one additional saved slot. If saving a series video or merged video would cause you to exceed 5 saved videos, the oldest saved video is automatically and permanently deleted from both our metadata and your GCS bucket — exactly as described in Section 8 above for single videos.

Series generation can produce between 2 and 10 videos in a single operation. You are solely responsible for downloading and preserving any video you wish to keep before generating additional content that would trigger automatic deletion. We make no representation that the merge, background-music processing, or any other server-side series operation will complete successfully, and no compensation is provided if these operations fail due to file size, format incompatibility, or infrastructure limitations.

9. Platform Usage Rules

You agree not to:

  • Access or attempt to access another user's account, data, or credentials.
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to interact with the Platform.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercialise access to the Platform.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Platform.
  • Upload malicious code or files designed to disrupt the Platform or other users.
  • Circumvent any rate limits, access controls, or security measures.

10. Platform Availability & No Warranty

10.1 Availability

We make commercially reasonable efforts to keep the Platform available but provide no guaranteed uptime, SLA, or service level commitment. We are not liable for downtime or service degradation caused by: Google Cloud infrastructure, Vertex AI, or GCS; Veo model unavailability, quota restrictions, or rate limiting; Vercel CDN or Railway hosting; or any other third-party dependency.

10.2 Google Services — No Control

The core video generation functionality depends entirely on Google's Vertex AI and Veo model, which are third-party services. Google may at any time — without notice to us or you — change the model's capabilities or output quality; modify or increase Vertex AI pricing; impose quota limits, rate limits, or regional restrictions; suspend your GCP account; or deprecate or discontinue the Veo model entirely. None of these events entitle you to any credit or compensation from us. In the event of Veo deprecation, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you and, where possible, integrate a replacement model, but are under no obligation to do so.

10.3 “As Is” — No Warranty

The Platform and all features are provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted service. We do not warrant that the Platform will be free of errors, bugs, or security vulnerabilities, or that defects will be corrected within any specific timeframe.

10.4 AI-Powered Features — Availability & No Warranty

Certain features of this Platform — including Prompt Coach, Auto-Enhance Prompt, Safety Fix Suggestions, Caption & Hashtag Generation, Engagement Score, Prompt Variations, Review for Veo, Series Script Generation, Voice Suggestions, and Hinglish Mode — are powered by a third-party AI service operated at the platform-operator level. You do not pay separately for these features; they are provided as an additional benefit using the operator's own service account.

  • These features may be temporarily unavailable when the underlying AI service experiences downtime or maintenance. No guaranteed uptime is provided for AI features.
  • AI-generated outputs (captions, hashtags, enhanced prompts, scripts, voice suggestions) are probabilistic by nature and may be incorrect, inappropriate, or unsuitable. They are suggestions only, not professional advice.
  • We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, cultural appropriateness, or legal compliance of any AI-generated text or suggestion.
  • No compensation or substitute will be provided if AI features are unavailable, degrade in quality, or produce results you find unsatisfactory.

You are solely responsible for reviewing all AI-generated outputs before using, publishing, or acting upon them. The existence of an AI suggestion does not constitute our endorsement or approval of the content it suggests.

11. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, software, brand name (“8 Second Reels”), logo, and codebase, is owned by us. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform while your account is active. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

12. Account Termination & Suspension

12.1 Termination by You

You may terminate at any time by emailing support@8secondreels.com to request account deletion. We will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain data by applicable law (for example, any records we are legally required to keep).

12.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate Sections 7.1 or 9, provide false information, engage in fraudulent activity, or engage in conduct that: (a) materially interferes with the operation of the Platform or other users' access to it; (b) exposes us to legal liability from a third party; or (c) causes demonstrable reputational or financial harm to the Platform, as determined in good faith.

We may also terminate with 30 days' notice for any other reason, in which case access remains active until the end of the 30-day notice period.

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, access ceases immediately. Your account data — including GCP credentials, prompt history, and video metadata — will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, 8 Second Reels and its operators shall not be liable for any of the following, regardless of whether such liability arises in contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity.
  • Any GCP costs, Vertex AI charges, or Cloud Storage costs you incur — whether within or beyond your free credit — arising from use of this Platform or any malfunction, bug, or unauthorised access.
  • Any loss arising from Vertex AI content filtering, generation failures, quota exhaustion, or rate limiting by Google.
  • Any loss arising from changes to Google's Veo model, including changes in output quality, style, content restrictions, or model deprecation.
  • Any loss arising from your reliance on, or publication of, AI-generated content without adequate review.
  • Any loss arising from third-party claims relating to content you generate using the Platform, including intellectual property infringement or defamation.
  • Any loss of data, including generated videos, prompt history, or account data, whether caused by our systems, your actions, or third-party infrastructure.
  • Any loss arising from service interruptions caused by Railway, Vercel, Google, or any other third-party dependency.
  • Any loss arising from unauthorised access to your account if caused by your own negligence in maintaining credentials.

The Platform is provided free of charge. Our maximum aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Platform shall not exceed ₹1,000 (one thousand Indian Rupees).

Nothing in this section limits our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or any other liability that cannot be lawfully excluded or limited under applicable Indian law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to fully indemnify, defend, and hold harmless 8 Second Reels, its operators, employees, and representatives from any and all third-party claims, actions, demands, losses, damages, costs, and legal expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from or related to:

  • Your violation of any provision of these Terms or the Privacy Policy.
  • Any content you generate using the Platform, including claims of copyright infringement, defamation, invasion of privacy, or violation of any right of publicity.
  • Your publication, distribution, monetisation, or commercial use of AI-generated content.
  • Your violation of Google Cloud's Acceptable Use Policy, Vertex AI Terms of Service, or Generative AI Additional Terms.
  • Your use of GCP credentials you are not authorised to use or that belong to a third party.
  • Your violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right in connection with your use of the Platform.
  • Any false or misleading information you provide to us or to third parties using content generated on our Platform.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

For any dispute, please first contact us at support@8secondreels.com to attempt amicable resolution within 30 days.

Unresolved disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at New Delhi, India.

Nothing in this clause limits your right to approach a consumer dispute redressal commission at your place of residence or purchase under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Consumers retain all statutory rights regardless of this jurisdictional clause.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. If you disagree, you may cancel before the changes take effect and your access will continue until the end of the notice period with no further disruption.

17. Miscellaneous

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement regarding use of the Platform.
  • Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
  • Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent.
  • Reel Credit (terminology): The label “Reel Credit” used in the Platform interface refers exclusively to your Google Cloud Platform service account credentials and associated free-tier credit. It does not refer to any platform-specific credits, prepaid balance, or tokens held by us. All obligations in Section 6 apply fully to what is labelled “Reel Credit” in the interface.

18. Grievance Redressal

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we have appointed a Grievance Officer to address complaints and concerns raised by users of this Platform.
